KEYNOTE SPEAKER:  Paralympic Athlete Bob Lujano

Our keynote address on Tuesday, will be from paralympic athlete and motivational speaker Bob Lujano, one of the stars of the acclaimed documentary "Murderball."  The film chronicles the American team's quest for gold at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, where they took home the bronze.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, quadruple amputee Bob Lujano graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law.  He holds a Master of Science in Sports Management from the University of Tennessee.  In 1979, Bob lost both arms below the elbow and both legs above the knee, due to a rare form of meningitis.

In 11 years, Bob has helped win five U.S. Quad Rugby National Championships, with the Lakeshore Demolition out of Birmingham, AL.  He has also won two medals playing rugby for the U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby National Team.  He earned one silver medal at the 2002 World Wheelchair Rugby Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, as well as taking the bronze in Athens in 2004.

Bob is currently a Recreation Specialist at the Lakeshore Foundation, a U.S. Olympic and Paralympic training site.  Through his success on the rugby court and in the workplace, Bob helps U.S. Paralympics' founding sponsor, The Hartford, positively change the public's attitudes and perceptions of disability.
