A
GREAT TIME FOR A GREAT CAUSE!
Kentucky Park and Recreation Foundation has raised
almost $35,000 for recreation in previous tournaments,
and we're determined to build on that success. The
tournament will be played at Juniper Hills Golf Course
in Frankfort, KY. Juniper Hills, which celebrates
its 50th anniversary this year, features 6,147 yards
from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course
rating is 66.2 with a slope rating of 10. Pro Kirk Schooley says the relatively short
greens make the
course attractive to any level player while the rolling
topography makes the course interesting and keeps the
more advanced players on their toes.

the longest drive and the shot ending closest to the
pin.

THE
KENTUCKY PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION
The Kentucky Parks and Recreation Foundation (KPRF)
was
founded in 1993 to support the Kentucky Recreation
and Park Society. As presented in its mission
statement, its purpose is "...to promote parks and
recreation opportunities in the Commonwealth of
Kentucky... and to support the parks and recreation
profession." Its first major accomplishment was to
provide KRPS with funding to employ a full-time director
between 1993 and 1998, by which time KRPS had grown
enough to support the director on its own. KPRF
continues to operate exclusively for the benefit of the
leisure movement in the Commonwealth of Kentucky by:
- promoting and improving
leisure opportunities and amenities in Kentucky
- providing scholarships on a
non-discriminatory basis to worthy students and
professionals in the parks, recreation and leisure
services profession.
- providing support for
professional training opportunities in Kentucky.
- promoting leisure awareness
to the general public in Kentucky.
You can help! We need your participation and
support to continue strengthening KPRF and our
profession in Kentucky. We hope to see you on the
greens for
the
Tenth Annual Tournament. If that
isn't possible, send in a donation and/or consider
sponsoring a hole.
